Jake Gyllenhaal records 'The Great Gatsby' audiobook - listen

Jake Gyllenhaal has recorded an audiobook version of The Great Gatsby.

Gyllenhaal has teamed up with Amazon-owned Audible.com for the recording of the classic novel, which is the first in a series of "definitive recordings of the Fitzgerald canon in association with the Fitzgerald Estate", reports The Huffington Post.

Set during the Roaring Twenties, The Great Gatsby was written by F Scott Fitzgerald.

The book has also been adapted into a 3D film feature by Baz Luhrmann, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Carey Mulligan and Tobey Maguire.

Hip-hop mogul Jay-Z produced the soundtrack for the film, which features Beyoncé, Florence Welch, Lana Del Rey and Andre 3000.

The Great Gatsby will be released on May 10 in the US and May 16 in the UK.
