The last conference for today is for Sony, following a busy evening of announcements from Ubisoft, EA and Microsoft.

Don't expect a PS4 announcement. Instead, look forward to the heavily-rumored cloud-streaming service - reported to be for retro games from Gaikai - as well as new eBook and PlayStation Plus service announcements. As for games? Expect a lot of announcements for Vita, as well as new God of War Ascension footage.

> Follow our ongoing E3 2012 coverage

You can follow with the following live stream or via our blog updates below. The conference will start at 2am BST / 9pm EST / 6pm PST.

19:26Jack Tretton urges us to "never stop playing," and with that the press conference comes to a close.

19:24The game looks brutal, but stunning.

19:23Players have control of the father and navigate the dilapidated city. They enter a hotel which is partly flooded, and stairs are begining to crumble. Climbing up to the roof, the players overhear some other people nearby and try to sneak past. The father uses a stealth takedown to knock out one of the people and steals his gun, but is spotted by the others. The father takes one of them hostage and uses him as a human shield, but runs out of ammo. His daughter calls out a distraction and throws a brick to knock out the remaining enemy.

19:18A trailer for Last of Us starts without any introduction. No, not a trailer, this looks like actual gameplay.

19:17God of War: Ascension will be available on PlayStation 3 March 12, 2013.

19:17An elephant creature carrying a huge club appears and starts attacking Kratos. It's interesting to see new enemy types being introduced that deviate from Greek myths. The video demonstration ends with Kratos leaping at the kraken tentacles in the water.

19:14Tentacles appear out of the water - it appears we'll have to fight the kraken at some point in the new game. Kratos uses a spell to move spare planks of wood into scaffolding to climb, where he encounters more goat creatures. Kratos uses a spear, which can be thrown, in addition to his blades of chaos.

19:11Kratos encounters a groups of sword-wielding goat-like creatures, and fights them with his signature brutality. There are more than a few decapitations.

19:09God of War: Ascension is up now. A live demo of the single-player campaign with Kratos is being shown.

19:07PlayStation Suite is to be renamed as PlayStation Mobile.

19:07A number of new PlayStation Certified devices are announced. HTC will be the first non-Sony smartphone maker to offer PlayStation Certified devices.

19:05PlayStation Suite will bring the PlayStation experience to Android smartphones and tablets.

19:03The demo had some technical hiccups, but players can make motions in the air with the Move controller to cast spells. The incendio spell is used to cast fireballs and shoot at paper creatures in a mini-game.

18:58A demonstration shows spells appearing on screen, and a dragon is summoned out of the book's pages. It breathes fire on the book, and players have to use their hands to put the fire out.

18:55Book of Spells will be the first title for Wonderbook, written by JK Rowling and "allowing you to cast magic spells with PlayStation Move as your magic wand".

18:54It uses a book-like peripheral and PlayStation Eye to make interactive books for PS3. Diggs Nightcrawler will be one of the first books, developed by Moonbot Studios.

18:53A trailer asks "what if a book could come to life?" Wonderbook is a new PlayStation 3 game and accessory.

18:52Jack Tretton introduces president and group CEO Andrew House. He is talking about books.

18:50Playstation 3 users will get an exclusive free DLC for Far Cry 3.

18:49Co-operative mode in Far Cry 3 is a separate campaign from the single-player story.

18:46Moving onto another Ubisoft game, they are revealing four-player co-operative play for Far Cry 3.

18:45Assassin's Creed 3 will launch on PS3 with a system bundle including the system, game, and exclusive DLC.

18:43Connor has to navigate his ship, chasing after an enemy vessel. Another British ship arrives and the ships open fire on each other, with players controlling the cannons on Connor's ship. The footage ends with Connor and his crew jumping to invade the enemy ship.

18:41Showing Assassin's Creed 3 on PS3, Connor is the captain of a ship.

18:38It supports touch controls and use of the camera. It will be made available on October 30, as well as in a Vita bundle to launch the White PlayStation Vita.

18:27Two new characters are unveiled. Nathan Drake and Big Daddy (from Bioshock) will be playable in the E3 demo on the show floor.

18:26A demonstration shows Sweet Tooth, Kratos, Sly Cooper and Fat Princess fighting. Sweet Tooth builds up to his level 3 super meter and transforms into a massive robot from the most recent Twisted Metal game.

18:22The game's developers come onto the stage and officially confirm the much rumored Vita version. It will also allow cross-platform play, so PS3 players can fight online against Vita players.

18:20PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale is next up.

18:19Jack Tretton calls Jodie Holmes "the newest member of the PlayStation family" along with the likes of Nathan Drake and Kratos.

18:18"I know, they're coming," she says to thin air. A SWAT team comes into the police office looking for her. The trailer then goes into a gameplay montage of various scenes, Jodie getting chased, looks very tense.

18:15One of the game's first scenes is now being shown. Jodie is being interviewed by a police officer. She was found by the side of the road, and it looks like she has been out in the rain. She won't respond to any of the officer's questions, though it seems he's trying to help her. A coffee cup on the desk begins to shake, and is then tossed across the room without being touched. The officer, spooked, leaves her alone in the office.

18:12Jodie Holmes will be played by actress Ellen Page.

18:11"For the first time in a video game we will live the life of a character."

18:10Called Beyond, the game involves the mystery of death. Main character Jodie Holmes feels a link to spirits and the supernatural world. The game tells her story over 15 years of her life.

18:09Starting with a new game from Heavy Rain studio Quantic Dream. David Cage is now on the stage.

18:09Jack also pays tribute to Kaz Hirai, who takes a bow, but doesn't seem that he's going to be taking the stage tonight.

18:07Past years have payed tribute to heroes like Nathan Drake, Cole McGrath and Solid Snake. This year Jack says he wants to pay tribute to the "real heroes," you, the players.

18:05Jack Tretton is taking the stage.
