Disney's Black Rock Studio has revealed that it is working on an innovative new multi-platform racing game titled Split/Second.
The Pure developer announced that races in the game will be staged in a "city rigged for destruction" as part of a "hyper-competitive reality television show".
Players will compete for the finishing line by triggering the destructive environment to knock out rival cars, with the aim of becoming the eventual season champion.
Craig Relyea, Disney Interactive Studios' senior vice president of global marketing, said that the game will enable players to "strategically take out their opponents by dynamically altering the course in real time".
Game director Nick Baynes added that it will also deliver "huge memorable moments on par with the biggest blockbuster action films".
Split/Second will be released at some point in early 2010 for Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
