Flower developer thatgamecompany is hoping to bring its next game to multiple platforms.

Speaking with Sony-focused gaming site Push Square, thatgamecompany's Jenova Chen revealed that the organization is exploring new systems.

"thatgamecompany had a three-game contract with Sony, so the past three games had to be Sony exclusive," Chen said.

"Right now we are very much exploring ways to bring our games to a bigger audience, beyond just PlayStation. We are still in the process of negotiating, but I hope that we can announce it [soon]. But right now it's still in the process."

The company's community manager offered further explanation through forum Neogaf, stating that the intellectual property rights for its three games, Flow, Flower and Journey are owned by Sony.

As such, thatgamecompany's next project will be something new, rather than a port of an existing game for a new system.

Journey will release on PlayStation Network on March 14.
