'Alt-Minds' transmedia game unveiled by Orange - watch video

By
Alt-Minds, a transmedia game and work of interactive fiction, has been announced by Orange and Lexis Numérique.

The episodic paranormal thriller promises to bridge the gap between gaming, social networking and traditional storytelling.

Players will decipher clues via a series of traditional and casual games on their computers, smartphones, tablets and social networks. Users are encouraged to work together to unravel the mystery, which centres around a series of kidnappings in Europe.

Jean-François Rodriguez, head of games and transmedia at Orange, said: "Our partnership with Lexis Numérique, a pioneer in transmedia fiction, has allowed us to combine gaming, online TV and social networks to create a new type of multi-media experience for our customers.

"For Orange, this is an opportunity to show that the tools we offer artists can be used to bring something new and very exciting to the public."

Orange has supported transmedia gaming since 2009, having previously launched Detective Avenue and FanFan2.

Eric Viennot, co-founder and artistic director of Lexis Numérique, added: "We are working with Orange to explore a new type of fiction, one which I hope will become part of the history of transmedia, a format which we started with In Memoriam back in 2003.

"These online experiences break down the walls between fiction and reality by offering spectators/players an unprecedented level of immersion in the story."

Alt-Minds is scheduled to launch in the autumn.
