The role-playing game features the combined talents of Final Fantasy VII and Final Fantasy VIII writer Kazushige Nojima, Final Fantasy VI and Final Fantasy IX art director Hideo Minaba, and Baten Kaitos character designer Nakaba Higurashi.
It also contains a musical score composed by Nobuo Uematsu, the man responsible for many a Final Fantasy soundtrack, including Final Fantasy XIV.

As one of the Borderwalkers, the game's hero can travel freely among lands in an attempt to revert the world back to its original state.
Battles take place on a 3x3 grid, with players able to uncover new talents by pressing different sections of the touchscreen.
