Justin Timberlake has revealed that smoking pot helps him to cope with stressful situations.

The Bad Teacher actor explained that because his brain is overactive, he "absolutely" uses pot on occasion to forget about any pressing concerns.

Timberlake told Playboy magazine: "The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking. Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high."

He also offered further comment on his plans to record a follow-up to his US quadruple platinum-selling sophomore album FutureSex/LoveSounds.

The 'My Love' singer recently claimed that he will eventually return to music, but cautioned that one final tour seems more likely than an album in the near future.

Timberlake has now insisted that he lacks the creative motivation necessary to create a memorable LP, saying: "I don't have a single song ready to go… People keep asking me when a new song or album is coming out, and I don't know what to say."

He continued: "Music is not my focus right now. It may be someday. It could happen next month or next year but right now it's not where it's at for me."

Bad Teacher, which co-stars Cameron Diaz, is released on June 17 in the UK and June 24 in the US.
