Matt Bomer has been named as the preferred choice to star in a potential movie version of The Wolf Gift.

Interview with a Vampire author Anne Rice revealed that if there is a Hollywood adaptation of her latest novel, she would pick White Collar actor Bomer.

Bomer would play the role of Reuben, a reporter by day who turns into a werewolf at night.

"I see Matt Bomer [in the lead role]. I think he's a charming, wonderful actor," Rice told Good Morning America.

"I think he's so good in White Collar, so funny, and so fresh and so wonderfully handsome, and at the same time so unassuming and charming. I would love to see him play Reuben."

Rice also named Bomer's co-star Tim DeKay for a potential supporting role, adding: "I would love to see Tim DeKay play his brother Jim, the same person who plays his boss on White Collar."

Matt Bomer officially came out as gay during an awards acceptance speech earlier this week.

He will soon star in Glee as Blaine Anderson's (Darren Criss) older brother.
