The Synecdoche, New York scribe has signed on to work on Lionsgate's adaptation of Patrick Ness's 'Chaos Walking' trilogy, reports Deadline.
The young adult series is set on a colonised alien planet where mankind is infected by a 'germ' that killed the female settlers and forces the men to hear each other's thoughts.
It centres around Todd Hewitt, the last boy in Prentisstown, who finds himself drawn into the center of a conspiracy and a war against the native alien populace.
