The 'Welcome To The Future' singer, who is currently on a European tour, joked that even people at his concerts often don't recognize him.
Paisley told The AP: "I'm getting asked everywhere... if I belong here, you know, 'Excuse me sir, do you have a pass?' [Even at] my own gig."
He added: "It's humbling but it's also pleasant. I can walk around here feeling like hardly anyone is going to know me."
Paisley also suggested that he is noticing a steady increase in country music's popularity in the UK, where his This is Country Music LP cracked the Top 100 earlier this year.
"It's really a pleasant surprise every time how much they know and how much they are familiar with my music, in a way that they really aren't in America," he added.
Paisley's 'H20 II: Wetter and Wilder World Tour' stops in Stockholm, Sweden tonight and in Oslo, Norway on Friday.
