Eminem's recent headline set at Reading and Leeds festival - which at the former included a guest appearance from Dido on 'Stan' - was a timely reminder of just how strong the rapper's back catalog is. Handy then, that the appearance coincides with the announcement of his eighth studio album, the sequel to what is widely considered his greatest work The Marshall Mathers LP.

As such, the record's lead single 'Berzerk' harks back to Eminem's Slim Shady (or "f**ked up" as he so eloquently puts it) days. "Take it back to straight hip-hop and start it from scratch," he spits at the start over a mash-up of retro-styled beats and a classic-rock guitar sample of Billy Squier's 'The Stroke'. The result may sound like Beastie Boys circa 1986, but its his inimitable flow that keeps it unmistakably Eminem.
