Deer runs wild in Essex high street, knocks over pedestrians - video

A deer caused panic in an Essex city center high street yesterday (January 3).

The animal was spotted running loose in Chelmsford, before knocking over several pedestrians.



One woman was later treated in hospital after the deer attempted to jump over her.

A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service stated: "We understand the deer, in its attempt to get away, barged into a number of people, sending some to the pavement.

"It also dazed itself when it hit a plate-glass window.

"The young woman was treated for minor facial injuries, then taken by us to Broomfield Hospital."

The deer was later spotted by the A12 dual carriageway. Police attempted to catch the animal but it was reportedly not found.
