Disabled parking space painted around car, vehicle towed - video

Footage has gone viral showing workers painting a handicapped parking spot around a legally parked car - then towing it.

Hila Ben Baruch, a local student, left her apartment in Tel Aviv, Israel to find that her car had been towed away, and a freshly painted disabled parking space had replaced it.



She was made to pay the full fine - amounting to $365 (£231) - by the city, who were sceptical of her story.

However, after seeking CCTV footage from a nearby building and posting the clip on Facebook, her story has garnered the widespread attention of online users and Israeli press.

Apologies started coming in from people including Tel Aviv mayor Ron Huldai and deputy mayor Asaf Zamir, blaming miscommunication between city workers and the parking inspectors' office.
