The girl was sitting in a cinema when she unintentionally called her mother, according to CBC News.
The woman - who heard screams, unaware they were coming from the movie - then contacted police.
Police officer Mike Russell said: "All she could hear on the other end of the line was screaming and yelling. It sounded like a very big struggle going on.
"So we actually had to have our staff try to get a hold of the daughter, and with so many pocket dials and abandoned 911s, it's certainly creating an extra burden for our officers and for our communications center staff."
Russell added that in the last six weeks, they have received more than 800 accidental emergency calls.
