NBC is developing a new mystery drama with The Evil Dead's Sam Raimi.

Vanish will focus on an enigmatic hero who helps people in danger to disappear, according to Deadline.

Spider-Man director Raimi will executive produce, while Michael Dinner will direct the potential pilot.

Trevor Munson, co-creator of 2007-2008 CBS drama Moonlight, created the project and will write the pilot.

He will also executive produce with Raimi, Dinner and Star Road's Josh Donen, while Robert Zotnowski will serve as producer.

Dinner recently directed two pilots for FX - comic adaptation Powers and crime drama Outlaw Country.

He is also working with the cable channel on private detective / prison drama Furlough from crime novelist Charlie Huston.

Other drama projects currently in development at NBC include adventure thriller Revolution from JJ Abrams and Supernatural's Eric Kripke, a modern-day update of Frankenstein and an adaptation of 1984 film Romancing the Stone.

A wrestling show produced by Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson, a cop series starring Ethan Hawke and Vincent D'Onofrio, and a remake of Danish drama Borgen are also in the works.
