Steven Seagal's cop drama True Justice has been picked up by ReelzChannel for US broadcast.

The 13-part series stars Seagal as Elijah Kane, leader of an elite team of undercover cops in Seattle.

The show first aired on Spanish TV channel Nitro in May this year and has also been shown on 5USA in the UK.

ReelzChannel will now premiere True Justice in the US on March 2012, according to Deadline. The digital cable channel made its first foray into original programming earlier this year, picking up controversial mini-series The Kennedys.

Sarah Lind, J Anthony Pena and Alex Mallari Jr also starred in True Justice, which was executive produced by Steven Seagal, Nicolas Chartier and Phillip B Goldfine. Keoni Waxman served as co-executive producer and director.

Seagal also stars in A&E reality series Steven Seagal: Lawman, which follows the action star as he performs his duties as a reserve deputy sheriff in Jefferson Parish, Louisiana.
