Charisma Carpenter: 'Buffy remake would be disappointing'

The actress, who played Cordelia on the supernatural show, revealed that a film reboot of the Joss Whedon series would not be a good idea.
"My feeling is, 'Of course, they're doing it. It was successful'. But, to do it without Joss [Whedon], it's just going to be really disappointing," Carpenter told Collider.
"I feel like it could do more harm to the franchise than good," she added. "Maybe it'll make people appreciate the original more. I don't know. But, it doesn't make much sense to do that, without any of the key players involved.
"Why call it Buffy? They should just call it something else because it's not going to be the same thing," she concluded.
In November, the actress won a recurring role on The Lying Game.
The Buffy project reportedly stalled earlier this month after screenwriter Whit Anderson exited the remake.
Former Buffy star Nicholas Brendan called the new Buffy reboot movie a "mistake", while Anthony Head described the project as "a hideous idea".
