Meredith Vieira accidentally swears on 'Today' - watch

Meredith Vieira accidentally swore live on-air on NBC's Today on Thursday (January 3).

The journalist was guest-hosting Today's fourth hour, when she accidentally dropped her research cards while gripping a fruity drink given to her by weatherman Al Roker.



"Oh, s**t," Vieira declared as she tried to pick up the cards.

The Today crew joined Roker in erupting with laughter at Vieira's gaffe, while the anchor herself soon regained her composure to issue an apology.

"Oh, my gosh, I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry," she told the viewing audience.

Today's anchors then moved on to conduct the rest of the hour, with Roker teasing Vieira several times about her error later in the telecast.

Vieira had been filling in for Kathie Lee Gifford, who has been on vacation for the last several days.
