Jersey Shore episode 11 recap: 'We Are Family'

By
Who knows if we'll get another season of Jersey Shore? With the news of Snooki's pregnancy, it feels like this might be the last time we see the group together on screen... so we had to make the most of it!

The finale had a bit of everything - pranks, a tornado, sex, rumors and emotional farewells. Not a bad way to go out, in other words!

The show begins with the campers returning... to discover that Vinny and Pauly have indeed turned the house inside out! All the stuff from their bedrooms is on the roof, but while most of them take it well, Mike is fuming.

He's so furious, in fact, that he even refuses to bring his stuff in when it looks like it's about to rain. It's a proper tantrum ("He's being stubborn and crying," says Ronnie), but Mike explains: "I didn't bring my stuff outside, I'm not bringing it in." Naturally, though, it rains and everything gets wet.

The others are pretty unimpressed with Mike's little sulk ("the prank happened to everyone in the fricking house," Sammi points out), but eventually to keep the peace they help him bring everything back in. "The Situation turned into the Bitchuation," Snooki declares.

But Mike's causing his fair share of trouble too. His brother Frank's dating Deena's sister Joanie ("I want to cry," Deena admits), and he's heard the gossip - Joanie has a "special talent" in bed (really, I'm not going to explain this any further on a family website). Mike naturally can't keep this amazing news to himself, so he tells a disgusted Snooki. Mike doesn't know whether to use this information for "good or evil", but we all know it's going to come out...

Sure enough, everyone goes out for a night at Jenks... and Joanie arrives! Snooki can't help but tell Deena that Mike was talking about her, and Deena is furious. "No-one talks s**t about my family!" she announces. So when they get back to the house, she confronts Mike, who does the worst ever "I don't know anything" face.

Mike unconvincingly states that Snooki must have heard him talking about Joanie on the phone, and then changes tactics and starts insisting that Joanie's "special talent" is actually a good thing. It's not an entirely successful move - "I'm fricking p*ssed at Mike!" Deena says after their chat.

The night goes much better for Vinny, who meets Jamie and Ashley at Jenks. "I'm always interested to talk to lesbians," he explains reasonably. "We share a common interest." But soon he's after something else - a threesome. For one thing, there's the difficulty of it all ("What better challenge than a girl who doesn't like penis?") but basically, as Pauly says, it's just the "holy grail" of sex.

The evening continues as Vinny gets the women back to the house... and then has to argue with Ronnie about getting access to the smush room. Ronnie thinks he's doing Vinny a favor by not letting him in - "Did he actually look at their faces?" he asks. "One of them looks like Matthew McConaughey."

But Vinny's not going to give up easily, so Ronnie gives up and lets him have the room. "This story will be told for generations to come," Vinny says triumphantly. "On this day, Vinny banged two lesbian chicks. That is an accomplishment, my friend."

It's time for a bit of jeopardy... in the form of a tornado! It's a pretty bad storm, but mainly gives everyone a chance to scream and run around a bit ("I don't want to get lightning in my hair!"), especially when the power goes out for all of two minutes. Deena's the worst: "I saw The Wizard of Oz! I don't want to be like Dorothy, swinging over the frigging sky with my dog and stuff!" She even threatens to drive away - worst idea ever - but instead everyone decides to just go to Karma instead.

Everyone's having a great time at Karma, but when Joanie and Frank arrive, Deena decides to confront Frank - was he really talking about her sister? But Mike, feeling all romantic and seeing how happy his brother is, begs her not to ruin their romance, and Deena agrees to let it go. Mike even wonders if he'll end up spending holidays with Deena. "Imagine that holiday conversation!" he adds.

It's almost time to say goodbye to the house, but not before a lovely final dinner that sets off the smoke alarms. Oh, and there's a round of applause for Ronnie and Sammi, who have somehow managed not to fight the entire time.

But there's still time for the girls to finally triumph over the boys in the prank wars - Sammi's bought a bunch of water balloons and even a swingshot. So when the boys go out to fly kites, they lock the doors and get on to the smush room deck to wage war ("I feel like Rambo right now!" Deena says excitedly). Unfortunately they haven't thought it through - Ronnie sneaks up and locks them on the deck, putting them at the boys' mercy.

To be fair, Deena tries to fight back by climbing over the roof, but she gets almost nowhere before squealing: "Oh my God, help me!" Eventually, the other girls call a truce and Deena is left to fight the boys herself. She tries her best, but ends up in the hot tub with the cover over her.

Eventually, the final day in the house is here and everyone begins to pack and reflect on their summer. Ronnie and Sammi are feeling good about their future, Jenni admits that she thinks of her roommates as "family", while Mike admits that he's going to "miss" the house a lot despite the "rocky road" for him and the others.

Then it's bye to Vinny - whose mom is not impressed by the state of the house - and Deena: "It's been a soap opera, but I'm not going to lie - I'm addicted to soap operas." Then Pauly's gone, leaving just Snooki, who's the last to leave. But will she be back? She thinks so: "I'd definitely love to be in this house 50 years from now. I can do this forever - every summer until I'm 90 years old." We'll have to wait and see...

The Jersey Shore reunion will air on Thursday at 10/9c on MTV.
