Scotty McCreery: 'I want Jennifer Lopez to stay on American Idol'

Scotty McCreery has expressed hopes that Jennifer Lopez will continue judging American Idol.

The 2011 American Idol winner was reacting to Lopez's recent comments that she is unsure if she will return to the series due to scheduling conflicts.

"I love her on the show. I'd hate to see her go," McCreery commented to Hollywood Life. "I was on her guinea pig season and it was cool having her out here… but whatever happen, happens."

McCreery went on to say that Lopez will be "fine" no matter what she decides because she has "a lot going for her".

Lopez has clarified her initial comments about returning to American Idol by insisting that she has yet to make a firm decision.

The singer debuted her latest single 'Goin' In' on American Idol's season finale on Wednesday (May 23).

American Idol also crowned its latest winner during the telecast.
