The former WBC welterweight boxing champion will be teamed in season 16 with Lindsay Arnold, a new addition to the show's troupe of professional dancers.
Arnold and Ortiz promoted Dancing with the Stars on Access Hollywood Live, where the boxer revealed that he only has one goal in mind.
"I want to win it, actually. I want to win this thing... my other competitive side of me is now kicking in," Ortiz boasted.
He added of his work ethic: "I get frustrated sometimes, and she works with me through it. At least she knows I'm a work horse, so whatever is put on the table I'm going to deliver."
Arnold went on to predict that Ortiz will likely shock some Dancing with the Stars viewers with his talent, despite the athlete's joke that he has just "three seconds" of dance experience.
"He's good on his feet... He's not horrible, he's got great footwork," Arnold declared.
Dancing with the Stars premieres on Monday, March 18 at 8/7c on ABC.
